Celebrate Popcorn the Layton’s Chance Winery Way!
When I heard January 19 is National Popcorn Day, we just had to celebrate it at the Winery! You see Popcorn plays a significant role in the Layton household. Our 17-year-old son, Stephen, LOVES popcorn.
I attribute this to adoration to William’s need to ALWAYS have popcorn at the movies. Going to the movies and not getting popcorn is not an option. Now, every year Stephen has his own bucket for the Cambridge movie theater. 
When we went on an Alaskan cruise a few years ago, Stephen had to visit the popcorn shop in every port (even though most of them were the same shop!) In addition, on a trip to my hometown of Pittsburgh, Stephen discovered the Pittsburgh Popcorn Company. Not only do they have a nice selection of typical popcorn flavors kettle, cheddar, caramel, and such, they have an endless rotation of specialty flavors like cinnamon toast crunch and birthday cake! Stephen’s favorite part of the place is that you can order it in bulk. I mean in trash bag size bulk. How to fit the popcorn in our car to get it home is an actual conversation. William and I think the Pittsburgh Popcorn Company may be a factor in him wanting to go to Pitt for college.
Whenever we travel to a wine festival, we always know what to get Stephen: POPCORN! I must say it is a blessing to have kid that is so easy to make happy. And, should you ever see the Layton family at the movie theater, you will always see us with popcorn in hand – and not a small bag we are a large all the way!
